Our last night in Aix was the first night the Christmas lights were turned on - absolutely stunning, if not a little dampened by the torrential rain and thunderstorm we experienced! Nevertheless, the market stalls remained open and the punters were in abundance.
On one of our day trips, Lindsay decided to have a go on the playground's sombrero-like equipment which spun around at a rate of knots. This pose is called "holding on for dear life". She vetoed the pictures post-ride...Captions warmly welcomed.
The Hotel de Ville (town hall) near our first apartment. There was a flower market here most days, and lovely open-air cafes, perfect for people watching.
The daily vegetable market. It was amazing to see them set up and take down their stalls so efficiently and quickly. The colours were amazing. Picking vegetables is good for learning unusual French vocabulary.
The church at the end of the street of our second apartment. We were right near the museum dedicated to Provencal painters, like Cezanne. Inspired, we bought our first small painting in a nearby gallery dedicated to artists from the region.
