Lake Como...Stunning when the sun shines

Perhaps you, like us, think of Lake Como as something like this...striking, clear water, snow capped mountains in the distance...George Clooney around the corner offering Nespresso and biscuits...a dream really.

Someone forgot to order this up for us. Our Lake Como looked strikingly like England - damp, cloudy, and cold.

This is us in front of a memorial to Alexander Volta, inventor (discoverer?) of the electric volt; the name helps us remember this fun fact.

One too many photos for Lindsay, much to Andy's joy. This is taken from along our promenade escapade looking for George. No, really - there is a nice footpath that goes along the lake, and this is a historical villa (closed in the winter) along the walk.

The days we were here looked like this.

Until the morning we left when naturally, the lake looked like this. We're not bitter. Promise:)
