February Family Fun

We've been swamped with setting up life here in San Francisco, but there have also been some precious times with family. We find ourselves grateful each day for how people have reached out to us, helped us, and welcomed us into their homes.

Sunset overlooking SF from Berkeley

We had a lovely meal in Kensington, near Berkeley, with Tash's aunt and partner. This picture overlooking the Bay was taken on the way to their house for dinner, in Tilden Park - where we got married nearly 2 years ago already!! Unfortunately we forgot to take a picture of us with Margaret and John -but we're definitely going to try and see them again soon, so we'll make sure to get it then.

Ty!
This is Lindsay's cousin Tyler, who graciously invited us to his 30th birthday celebration! We enjoyed tennis, tamales, and ushering Ty into the next decade. We also had a rousing game of Poch with everyone! The Martin-Sweek clan is enjoying the Poch board game that the W-P clan kindly gave us.

Lindsay had her birthday on Valentine's day (yikes! 32), and was able to enjoy her favourite chocolate cake without feeling guilty! Being the caring person she is, she also made a Valentine breakfast for Andy and Terry - check out Nigella's apple-cinnamon muffins (from her new book Kitchen; thanks Alex and Hilly!) here - they were really good!

One of the biggest purchases in our lives...
After much investigation, research and negotiation, we bought a car! Double yikes! We bought a Kia Sorrento - and we're loving it! Car stories will no doubt be appearing in future adventures...and we will get better at posting more blogs about these, however this month seems to have flown by with getting settled in and dealing with urgent tasks at hand - job hunting being just one of these! Stay tuned to see how this turns out...
